Notice Regarding Ballot ‘Cure’ Rules in PA Counties
Several counties are allowing voters to ‘cure’ flawed mail-in ballots ahead of tomorrow’s election.
For voters with unsigned, undated, or naked ballots, some counties are alerting voters of their defects and allowing for replacement ballots or provisional ballots. Allegheny, Fayette, and Lawrence counties, among others, are notifying voters of defects and allowing them to correct ballots. Philadelphia county has released a list of flawed ballots and is allowing for replacement ballots or provisional voting.
Beaver, Butler, Washington and Westmoreland counties are not telling their voters of defective mail-in ballots, but if voters call their county election departments, officials will tell them if their ballot is defective or not.
Please Take Action: Check these lists for your name or the name of people you know and spread the word in your communities. If you think your ballot was flawed, you received a notification from your county, or your name is on a list, you still have options to cast your vote in this election. Per the Department of State: “Voters should contact their county elections office to discuss their options to fix/cure issues with their mail ballots. If the county will not allow the voter to fix the error, then voters should go to their polling place on election day and ask for a provisional ballot.”
