Timely Topics: The Advantages and Limits of Ranked Choice Voting

Dr. Paul Adams, Associate Professor of Political Science at the University of Pittsburgh at Greensburg (and Westmoreland County League member and Director of Civic Education),
will explain how Ranked Choice Voting (RCV) works, and how it has been expanding in many American states (such as Maine, Alaska, and Nevada) and municipalities as an alternative to the traditional single-member district (SMD) and plurality election systems.  Dr. Adams will provide analysis of the benefits and limits of RCV in comparison to SMD and other election systems.
