Statement Regarding PA Supreme Court Decision on Reproductive Choice
The League of Women Voters of Pennsylvania praises the recent PA Supreme Court ruling stating that the Pennsylvania Constitution protects the fundamental right to a woman's reproductive autonomy.
"All women deserve unfettered access to reproductive healthcare, and this decision is a major step towards protecting freedom for women in the Commonwealth.” said Maria Delgado-Santana, LWVPA President.
“We’re absolutely thrilled by this decision,” said Susan Boser, LWVPA Director of Social Policy. “We urge lawmakers to take note and support similar steps for women’s rights, such as the passage of House Bill 1888, which protects reproductive choice and is currently being reviewed in the House.”
The League will continue to monitor the case and advocate on behalf of all women in Pennsylvania.
