Join community members from across western PA for a workshop on pre-development planning for sustainable development projects
The League of Women Voters of Pennsylvania, in partnership with Reimagine groups in Butler, Beaver, Fayette, Cambria and Blair counties, the Turtle Creek Watershed and Airshed Communities, the Indiana County Sustainable Economic Development Task Force, and Concerned Ohio River Residents' A Better Vision, is hosting the first of a series of capacity building workshops aimed at driving forward sustainable development projects in our region and generating more collaboration between communities.
Come learn from local and national experts how to strategically plan for projects in your community to accomplish sustainability goals.
Guest speakers will include Candace Hamana and Rebecca Flora.
Candace Hamana is the owner of Badger PR and the founder of the Indigenous Peoples Public Relations Association. Hamana has over fifteen years of communications expertise which includes media relations, digital audience strategies, community outreach, crisis communications, and grant project management skills. She has served as the Communications Director for the South Carolina House Democratic Caucus, a media relations specialist and public information officer for the Salt River Pima-Maricopa Indian Community, and a stakeholder relations liaison for the Central Arizona Project before starting her business in September 2018.
Rebecca L. Flora, is the President & CEO of ReMake Group, LLC, a woman-owned and operated consulting company. Rebecca is currently serving as project manager for the p4 Performance Measures project to facilitate a collaborative process including over 100 participants engaged in the development of a framework and tool for assessing real estate development projects in the City of Pittsburgh. The p4 Measures address the p4 goals and respond to priority issues in the City of Pittsburgh. Rebecca has the opportunity to directly apply the p4 Measures in her newest assignment as project manager for the mixed-use, sustainable redevelopment of the 178-acre Almono site in Pittsburgh.
