REGIONALISM

Promote a regional approach to problems of pollution, transportation, energy, and land use; promote regional cooperation in solving the problems of waste management by increasing understanding of regionalism; promote regional cooperation among local governments.

TRANSPORTATION

Action to support surface mass transportation in the southeastern Pennsylvania metropolitan area with a focus on organization, funding, political support and legislative background.

INFRASTRUCTURE

Promote federal, state, and local public investment in the infrastructure needs of the five county Philadelphia metropolitan area in order to maintain the economic health of the region and the state.

COMMUNITY ACCESS (MEDIA)

Action to support community media in the Southeastern Pennsylvania area, with a special focus on public education and government (PEG) access through cable television, internet, digital capability, open video systems, and satellite distribution.

The League of Women Voters, a nonpartisan political organization, encourages the informed and active participation of citizens in government, works to increase understanding of major public policy issues and influences public policy through education and advocacy. Membership is open to men and women of 18 years of age or older.
