As an inter-League organization we study issues that affect our five county region and lobby once we have reached consensus on an issue. As part of our program to promote a regional approach to problems of pollution, transportation, energy, and land use; promote regional cooperation in solving the problems of waste management by increasing understanding of regionalism; promote regional cooperation among local governments.
The League has been using various means to support community media in the Southeastern Pennsylvania area, with a special focus on public education and government (PEG) access through cable television, Internet, digital capability, open video systems, and satellite distribution. On August 8, 2006, LWV-SEPR
gave testimony on Senate Bill 1247 (Cable Choice and Competition Act)
at a Public Hearing at the Penn State University Delaware County Campus.
The LWV Greater Pittsburgh League also provide testimony

The League of
Women Voters, a nonpartisan political organization, encourages the informed
and active participation of citizens in government, works to increase
understanding of major public policy issues and influences public policy
through education and advocacy. Membership is open to men and women of
18 years of age or older.
