The League of Women Voters of Greater Pittsburgh,
a nonpartisan political organization, encourages the informed and
active participation of citizens in government, works to increase
understanding of major public policy issues, and influences public
policy through education and advocacy.

Mock Elections: Under
a grant from the U.S. Election
Assistance Commission, the League of Women Voters of Greater
Pittsburgh will be holding mock elections in high
schools throughout Allegheny County in October 2010.
As
a pilot project,
20 students from Propel
Schools participated in a mock version of the November 2009
general election. See photos and mock election results here.

Award Event will be held on November 4. More information

2010 Edition. Find out who represents
you and how to communicate with them. Another resource for communicating
with elected officials are the district maps and contact information
published by Duquesne Light in the Use
Your Voice booklets (PDF format). Select Allegheny County
or Pittsburgh City Council for local officials. There is also
a guide for Beaver County.
